In industrial and mobile hydraulics, there is a demand for complex control systems that are space-saving, lightweight, functionally reliable, and cost-effective. B&B Fluidsysteme has made it its mission to fulfill these requirements.
Control blocks, also known as valve blocks, control hydraulic actuators such as hydraulic cylinders or hydraulic motors. Furthermore, safety functions and logic circuits can be implemented.
Starting from an aluminum or steel raw block, screw-in bores are drilled into which the valves are screwed. The connections between the valves are realized by bores. Valves with ISO porting patterns can be screwed onto the block, and inlets and outlets can be screwed to the block with connections. Control blocks for flange mounting on a cylinder or motor are also common practice.
The development of hydraulic control, the design of the blocks, as well as the manufacturing, assembly and testing of the finished products are integral parts of our value creation. Our range of services also includes small series production.

What are the advantages of block technology?
Small Space Requirement
Since not every valve has to be piped in its own housing for switching, the result is usually a more compact solution.
Easy Installation
The valves only have to be screwed into the corresponding bores. Especially with more complex hydraulic systems, a clear solution is helpful.
Reduction of Leakage
Replacing pipe and hose lines as well as the associated screw connections with a valve block reduces the possible leakage.
Cost Advantage
Due to the reduction of the required individual components as well as lower assembly costs, a cost advantage often results, even with small quantities.

In correspondence with the customer, the desired requirements are determined and the corresponding circuit is developed and an offer is created.

The circuit is converted into a block design using 3D CAD program.
Here, attention is paid to a production-oriented design that meets the requirements.

Customer coordination of the prototype
The customer receives a prototype drawing for coordination with his design and to be able to make necessary corrections.

Order / Production
After receipt of order, the prototype of the valve block is manufactured on a machining center, deburred, cleaned and prepared for surface treatment

Finishing of the aluminum components
Aluminum components are anodized. Steel components are chemically nickel-plated. Other processes can also be used on request

Assembly / Quality Assurance
The control block is equipped with all components and, if necessary, tested. For traceability, it is marked with the

SUN screw-in valves and standard housings


Since our foundation in 1992, we have been an official sales partner of the US valve manufacturer Sun Hydraulik.
Sun Hydraulik is a leading manufacturer of high-quality screw-in valves. These are used in mobile and industrial hydraulics. The valves are available in up to 5 sizes and can be used up to operating pressures of 420 bar in some cases. Due to the SUN-specific floating design, small alignment errors in the bore, or increased tightening torques, do not affect the function.
In addition, there is a comprehensive program of piping housings, intermediate plates in NG6 to NG25 and various flange housings.
These are available in aluminum (up to 210 bar), cast steel and partly even stainless steel (up to 350 bar).
SUN offers various surface treatments for the housings. Aluminum housings can be anodized on request, the extruded housings can be burnished, galvanized or zinc-nickel coated.
In addition, completely assembled modules with valves in the housing can also be ordered.

Screw-in valves from SUN Hydraulik
Each SUN screw-in valve is a complete unit in an advantageous, compact and lightweight design. Depending on the design and function, the screw-in valves are suitable for pressures up to 350 bar, in some cases even up to 420 bar. There are 5 sizes with a nominal flow rate of up to 480 l/min, and for some of the valves even up to 760 l/min.
The internal parts made of high-quality, hardened steel guarantee a reliable mode of operation with a long service life. The external parts are galvanized and thus offer effective corrosion protection.
A significant advantage of the SUN Hydraulik screw-in valves is the “floating” design, which prevents the internal parts from jamming. Each individual SUN screw-in valve is subjected to a functional test on high-precision and powerful test benches before delivery.

Shuttle Valve NG4

In load-sensing circuits and control lines of control blocks, it is often necessary to compare various pressures and forward the highest pressure.
For this application, our self-manufactured shuttle valve WV-04. The nominal size 4 valve is very compact with a length of 24mm, can be fully recessed into the block, and requires little installation space.
In addition to this, we offer the valve in the piping housing WV-04-G14 with G1/4″ connections.

Emergency Manual Overrides for SUN Solenoid Valves

We offer a cost-effective emergency manual override for SUN solenoid coils 740 (NH740R) and 770 (NH770R) for the push-type solenoid.
By removing the lock nut of the solenoid coil screwed onto the valve, the emergency manual override can be screwed on.
Turning the wheel activates or releases the emergency manual override.

Adjustment Blocks for SUN Counterbalance Valves Series 1-3

With our setting blocks for overcenter valves, SUN overcenter valves can be set to a pressure value according to the factory setting “drop in jet”.
These blocks are available from us in size 1 for the T-11A bore (F0286A1), in series 2 for the T-2A bore (F0407A1) and in series 3 for the T-17A bore (F1049A).

Corrosion Protection Caps for SUN Valves

We offer corrosion protection caps made of anodized aluminum for screwing onto various SUN valves.
A threaded ring, with hexagon, is placed before screwing in the valve. After tightening the valve, the cap is placed and screwed tight.
